We are excited to host the 2024 NADE National Training Conference in Oklahoma City. Presentations will be from the leading medical and psychological consultants, leadership from Social Security, and community based educational speakers. It is our goal to provide knowledge, skills and insights into the most current health, policy and program information. This training will better equip staff with tools for their everyday job functions. It will also provide an excellent opportunity for staff to build connections with their peers and learn what works and what does not work. Monday August 5 – Ghost Tour
Discover some of Oklahoma City's most mysterious and spooky stories on the OKC Ghost Tour. Visitors who join this exciting walking tour will hear the classic tales and a few new gems unearthed from Oklahoma City history. From legends and unexplained events to tales and firsthand accounts of the past, you'll discover a new side of Bricktown. Listen closely as the tour guide, local author Jeff Provine, shares about the mysterious first death recorded following the Land Run of 1889; hidden tunnels where people were said to have been born, live and die without ever seeing the sun; ghosts of Bricktown and even the most haunted hotel in Oklahoma. This unique storytelling walk will leave you with true tales researched from interviews and public archives. The tour route is all outdoors and follows public sidewalks. Each guest will receive a commemorative glow-in-the-dark wristband. Register in advance for this fascinating 75 to 90-minute historical adventure in Bricktown.
Tuesday August 6 – OKC Dodgers vs. Round Rock Express at Chicksaw Bricktown Ballpark
Includes a hat, a food/beverage voucher for $6. Game Day will be $2 Tuesday for some adult beverages. The stadium is a short walk from the hotel or there is a trolley ($1/ride, $3/day pass).
